Low Pressure Water Mist Nozzle

One of the most important components of a cooling system is the misting nozzle. All misting systems are comprised of a series of nozzles placed in a line.

When attached to high-pressure pumps, water is forced through nozzles, forming droplets which evaporate into mist when they reach the outdoor air. This can reduce the temperatures by 35 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. If the misting system is in a confined indoor area, it will provide a cool mist but will also increase humidity.

Orifice Diameter range starts from 0.4 mm to 2.00 mm. 

Industrial Mist Nozzle

Misting nozzles are designed to create a spray that angles out anywhere from 40° – 100°, depending on your system’s water pressure. The wider the angle, the more area the spray will cover and the fewer nozzles will be needed. 18, 24 or 30 inch nozzle spacing is standard, but some suppliers will customize spacing to your needs. Nozzle spacing in plastic, nylon, and copper lines can be easily customized during installation, too.

How far in the air the spray “drifts” or spreads is determined by their height off the ground, the system’s water pressure and the size of the nozzle, plus the temperature of the water and the outside air.

Low Pressure Mist Nozzle

Low pressure mist nozzle is designed to work in the pressure range of 3 to 12 bar pressure (45 PSI to 180 PSI).

Low-pressure mist nozzles are available in the orifice size of 0.2 mm to 2.0 mm

The size of the water droplets that make up the mist helps determine how much cooling effect you’ll be able to feel. As each little droplet evaporates, it cools the air immediately around it. Bigger droplets take longer to evaporate than smaller droplets. If they land on you before they’ve completely evaporated, you’re wet. If you’re in fairly dry air this can feel great as the water evaporates off of your skin. On the other hand, it can be uncomfortable in extremely humid weather, or if you just don’t want to be wet. Also any water that doesn’t evaporate must land on something. You’ll need to make sure it doesn’t puddle and that what it lands on is water-safe.

High Pressure Mist Nozzle

Misting nozzles function in cooling by atomizing pressurized water into aerosol particles that “flash-evaporate”. The smaller the water droplets, the better the cooling. the throw of mist nozzles can go up to 2 to 3 meters. The higher the pressure, fine mist is produced

Hollow cone nozzle

This flow pattern is essentially a circular ring of liquid. Hollow cone nozzles are best for application requiring good atomization of liquids at lower pressures or where quick heat transfer is needed. These nozzles also feature large and unobstructed flow passage which provides relatively high resistance to clogging.

Wind Air Jet Nozzle

Full cone or hollow cone pattern produced by many nozzles will break down into a fog/mist after a certain distance from the orifice. If a cone pattern is desired then this breakdown into a true mist is not desirable. But for some applications, the breakdown of the spray into a true homogeneous fog is the required result. As such, there are a number of nozzles that are designed to specifically produce this effect.

A mist pattern is characterized by having a low flow rate of very small droplet sizes with almost no impact. Typically this pattern will be used for evaporation cooling, moistening or humidifying applications.
